Open this bottle and you will be greeted by a complex bouquet which is at once distinctive and immediately pleasing. The fragrance is deep and rich with hints of coconut and chocolate, without any of the alcohol hit found in lesser vanillas.
When cooked, this 2 fold vanilla extract brings that unmistakably true mexican vanilla flavour which is utterly unlike any other variety.
How much should you use? Because its a 2 Fold vanilla extract it is a little more intense than most store-bought vanilla extracts. It is best to start with a third to half of what the recipe calls for - you can always add more! With a little trial and error to find the perfect amount for your favourite creations.
What is Double Intensity? By law, pure Vanilla extract must contain 100 grams of vanilla beans for every litre of 35% alcohol. Zeron Double Intensity Pure Vanilla Extract, also known as 2 fold, has twice the required amount of beans per litre of alcohol to give twice the flavour.
Ingredients: Water, alcohol, vanilla oleoresin from Vanilla Planifolia.
Manufactured in Mexico for and bottled in Canada by Zeron Fine Foods.

I have been using the Zeron vanilla extract for years. I have been raking my brain to try and remember exactly how long it has been. I know it has been well over 5 years and I still have a vivid memory of the first time I discovered Zeron. I was looking at vanilla extract at the Gourmet Warehouse in Vancouver and the person helping me let me smell the Zeron extract. One whiff and I knew that Zeron was different. Usually when you smell vanilla extract the first thing you smell is alcohol and then the vanilla. But not with Zeron. The first thing you smell is vanilla, which is how I think it should be. I have been hooked ever since.
